Comic Con is probably one of the most unique experiences I have ever had. And it was an interesting venue to share the mission of the Roddenberry Dive Team.

We got things up and running bright and early Thursday morning at La Jolla Shores with a beach dive to the canyon. 20-30 eager souls showed up and enjoyed coffee and donuts as the sun came up, then everyone geared up for the dive. It's a long surface swim out but after you drop down to about 40 feet it makes it all worth while. A number of rays and starfish greeted us as we dropped down into the canyon to about 100 feet.

After the dive, everyone chatted about their experiences. Our friends James & Justin from White's were on hand to talk about their new Fusion dry suits that Rod and I wear. And John Wagner with Mantaray fins let everyone try a pair during the dive. Everyone agreed we should do it again next year!

Off to Comic Con! Friday evening the Dive Team hosted our first Comic Con Mixer at the San Diego Wine & Culinary Center. It was a great time to unwind with friends & family...and we even got to rub shoulders with a few celebs, too! Let me drop a a few names...Garrett Wang, Vic Chao, Crystal Allen, Christy Hemme, Brooke Lee (former Miss Universe), Alexis Cruz and even Tim Russ showed up before the night was out! The Wine & Culinary Center provided some wonderful appetizers and everyone sampled the Star Trek themed drinks made with Kai Vodka! There really was "Trouble with Tribbles!"

As for Comic Con itself, we had many people stop by the booth to talk about what the Roddenberry Dive Team is and what we are doing to help our oceans. We made a lot of new friends and hope you will all become new members of the RDT! We look forward to another big event next year!
